Heather Lynn Boerner

Heather Lynn Boerner MA, CCC/SLP, TSHH, Speech Language Pathologist, is founder and owner of Chatty Child Speech & Occupational Therapy, PLLC. She specializes in treating apraxia of speech, articulation, language, speech and feeding delays. She also treats medically complex populations and children who require augmentative and alternative communication devices. Heather has over two decades of experience in the field and is PROMPT level 2 trained. Heather has gained experience in all therapeutic settings including: hospitals, schools, homecare, and center-based programs. 

Heather is a certified mindfulness & meditation teacher, trauma informed therapist, and neuro-diversity crusader. Heather has lived with a lifelong disability herself. Her mission is to help other children and families gain support, understanding and build community.  Chatty Child is here to help your child and your family through creative, compassionate and empowering care.  

With an experienced staff of speech, occupational and educational theater teachers, Heather brings all these varied skills to her state of the art speech, language and occupational therapy center.

  • Chatty Child offers private pay options –  via cash, check,  credit card or Zelle. 
  • Fully coded invoices are provided monthly – for out-of-network reimbursement back to the parents (following payment to Chatty Child, first.)
  • Medically coded invoices are available for: speech & occupational therapy & therapeutic social groups. Please note:  Medically coded invoices cannot be provided for literacy tutoring or creative art tutoring.   

Heather brings many unique qualities to her innovative therapeutic approach. She incorporates language and speech goals into her treatment sessions through movement activities, multi-sensory stimulation, and thematic based lessons including meditation and mindfulness techniques, creative pathways using: visual art, drama, writing, speaking, and interactive journeys.

Heather also has a personal connection to all the children and families she works with, as she was a child who received therapy herself. Through her own personal therapeutic journey, Heather was able to reach her full potential. She feels a special connection to all children with special needs and the unique challenges they face. At Chatty Child she empowers both the children and their families to communicate effectively and successfully to the best of their abilities. It is her personal mission is to create possibilities & voices one child at a time.

At Chatty Child, we provide comprehensive therapy which helps to build the foundation for learning speech and language. In addition, our occupational and physical therapists focus on maximizing your child’s ability to function in his or her daily life. The therapists at Chatty Child achieve positive results that help your child to communicate and function effectively. 

Therapy sessions are tailored to each child’s needs, interests, and strengths. We create treatment sessions that are personalized, innovative, and challenging. 

We provide the important building blocks for learning that create a sound foundation for your child. At Chatty Child, this foundation will be based on fun, engaging, positive and successful learning experiences.
